Fly Tipping incident 12
Reported in the Fly Tipping category by Jeff Owen at 10:17, Sat 29 December 2018
Sent to Stevenage Borough Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1497337.
This garage block is regularly the scene for fly tipping, as unloading can be screened from the road by the solid brick wall at the rear of the electricity sub-station. By failing to come up with a solution which is more permanent than just removing rubbish once it has been reported, the Council is failing the public it is elected to serve, and allowing a criminal act to go unpunished. CCTV has been suggested, but I am advised it would cost more than the removal does, and inconvenience / stress caused to a resident who is unable to use their garage (perhaps in an emergency) does not tip the balance.

Fly tipping in this location is a regular problem which the Council seems unable / unwilling to tackle, preferring to deal with the clean-up of each dumping as an individual exercise. I have suggested that the block needs to be covered by CCTV, so watch this space!
